Haiti - Agriculture : Great Agricultural Fair in Terrier Rouge
As part of the celebration of the Feast of Agriculture and Labor, May 1, 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with international and local NGOs of the area organized a Great Fair at Terrier Rouge at the Centre Sainte Barnabas around the theme "Ann jere dlo po nogogant nasyonal pwodiksyon". The aim of the fair was to promote national production and to encourage people to consume local products.
Farmers, craftsmen, artists, entrepreneurs, agro-industrialists, workers and intellectuals from the North and Northeast regions exhibited their products and works.
About twenty farmer groups received agricultural equipment from the Departmental Directorate of Agriculture North (DDAN). Several hundred farmers and local authorities from communal sections took part in this distribution.
Agricultural tools (picks, shovels and wheelbarrows and boots) and motorcycles have been distributed to agricultural associations. These materials, depending on the beneficiaries, will have a positive impact on agricultural production in this area
