Haiti - Security : Incident between the Mayor of Port-au-Prince and a police officer

Wednesday, a note from the Mayor's Office of Port-au-Prince, Ralph Youri Chevry deplored the incident occurred Tuesday, April 24 at the corner of Street Rivière and Avenue John Brown, in which states the note "a police officer on duty, in an excess of anger and regrettable rage, deliberately tried without cause to immobilize the Mayor's car."

The Office makes a formal denial of allegations circulating in particular on social networks, according to which this police officer was assaulted and informs that "the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti, which has already spoken with Mayor Chevry, is seized of the case as well as the National Federation of Haitian Mayors (FENAMH) for the necessary follow-up. "

Reiterating the commitment of Mayor Chevry "to work constantly for the establishment of good relations between police and citizens who are essential conditions for police officers to work effectively and of securing the population."
