In a note, Mgr. Launay Saturné, Bishop of the Diocese of Jacmel and President of the Episcopal Conference of Haiti recalls "On December 21, 2017, the Reverend Father Joseph Simoly fell under the murderous bullets of ruthless bandits in front of his residence in the metropolitan region https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23058-haiti-flash-a-priest-shot-dead-in-petion-ville.html .
