Haiti - Agriculture : President Moïse promises State support to rice farmers 20/04/2018 09:39:22
Thursday in the locality of Cova in Liancourt (Dept. Artibonite), President Jovenel Moïse met with 12 presidents of agricultural cooperatives gathering around 20,000 rice farmers in the Artibonite Valley around the problems they encounter. These exchanges took place in the presence of Carmel André Beliard the Minister of Agriculture and local elected officials. The opportunity for the Head of State to give the guarantee to the farmers that the State will provide full support to the planters, as part of the project to support rice production, to give a new impetus to the development of the Agriculture. It will be, among other things, to provide local support to producers and support them from soil preparation to the marketing of products through processing.
