Haiti - Politic : A better implication of the young people for the development of the country

Convinced that the development of the country must go through a better involvement of youth, Régine Lamur the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, visited the young people gathered at the Institution Marie Régine Salesian Don Bosco in the framework of the celebration of the World Youth Day (WYD 2018) Saturday, March 24 around the theme "United Youth, flowered country."

Celebrated around the world since 1984 at the initiative of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis this year called on young people to "trust in their vocation". For her part, Minister Lamur is convinced of the need to "better orient youth to give them a real reason to believe in their potential, in their future and in their country".

Through framing, accompaniment, training, the return to civic and patriotic values and a healthy leisure offer, the Minister is committed to working to promote the development of young Haitians so that they can put themselves at the service of their relatives in their community and their country "Young people make up more than half of the population. They do not represent the future but the present of the country. It is the duty of everyone to supervise them," said Minister Lamur.

The Minister took the opportunity to greet the speakers of the day for having put forward civic, patriotic and moral values. She acknowledged that there was a crumbling of these values in the country but assured her Ministry was working to restore them saying "we must take our destiny as a proud people and believe in our potential."
