Haiti - Sports : Towards the renovation and international upgrade of our football fields

Friday Régine Lamur, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action made a visit to assess the regulatory, security and community aspects of the Park Dumarsais Estimé in Montrouis and the National Park of the Flag of Arcahaie.

Minister Lamur acknowledged that a significant number of our sports facilities do not meet international standards and promised to work with the managers and technicians of her Ministry to correct this anomaly and provide the country with sports facilities to organize international competitions.

Concerning the Park Dumarsais Estimé in Montrouis she said "[...] it already fulfills certain conditions favoring the installation of sports facilities to standards [...] With the intervention of the Ministry, it will become a Multisport Center for the benefit of Arcadins Football Club, playing in the second national division and for the benefit of young and old who want to practice sports."

In addition to a football field meeting national and international standards with stands that can accommodate around 3,000 spectators, comfortable changing rooms, modern sanitary blocks, the Park Dumarsais Estimé will have a track, a field of basketball, volleyball and tennis.

In Arcahaie the situation is somewhat different, says the Minister, "the size of the National Park Flag is lacking because of its width less than the regulatory minimum and it could not be brought up to standard without making any expropriations" . However, Régine Lamur undertakes to carry out some work the lair of the Football Club of Arcahaie. The field will benefit from the installation of locker rooms, a toilet block, fences around the field, pending further interventions to allow the player to play a game of quality without having to worry about their physical integrity.

Minister Lamur will soon visit a space located in Carrefour Pois, chosen by the local authorities for the construction of the new multi-sports field of the city of the flag.
