Haiti - FLASH : The public market «Nan gerit» ravaged by a fire

The Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) informs us that a violent fire erupted Sunday at midday in the public market "nan gerit" (Port Market) near the customs of Port-au-Prince, no far from the Haitian Parliament, a very popular market specialized in the sale of fabrics and clothing.

The rescue teams were on hand to try to control the violent fire, while several merchants were trying to save their goods at the risk of their lives...

At the end of the afternoon the DPC announced that the incident had been mastered by the firefighters of Carrefour, Delmas because no truck was in capacity, because down, to leave the Fires station of Boulevard Harry Truman...

The damage are considerable, for the moment one ignored the cause of the disaster.
