Sunday, January 28, at the Ato Boldon stadium in Couva (Trinidad & Tobago) as part of the small final of the championship of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), last match for the third place for the U-20 Women's World Cup (FIFA) France 2018, our Grenadières who faced Canada given favorite, have cleared the humiliation made by the Canadians [4-0] on Monday, January 22 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23348-haiti-fifa-u-20-world-cup-canada-humiliates-our-grenadieres-[4-0].html , by winning [1-0] and the last ticket for the 2018 France World Cup.

In the first period, our grenadières put pressure on the Canadian defense, which allowed Sheryl Jeudy to score the only goal of the game to the 18th minute when she crossed the Canadian defense line and snuck into end, before hitting the ball at point-blank in the upper corner of the net.

In the second period Canada took the initiative seeking equalization without being able to defy the vigilance of our goalkeeper Kerly Theus who has faced all Canadian attempts.

With this victory, Haiti joins Mexico and the United States in the World Cup U-20 Women's Championship (FIFA) France 2018 which will take place from 5 to 24 August.
