The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) wishes to inform the general public that ill-intentioned people have used the logo of the DGI and circulated on social networks false informations relating to coercive measures for failure to pay or deposit the final income tax return. They invented an alleged monthly penalties of 25,000 Gdes, which they say should hit latecomers.
The DGI categorically denies and totally rejects such allegations that are intended to spread panic and discourage tax compliance among citizens.
DGI invites the public to visit its official website www.dgi.gouv.ht/ to ensure the authenticity of the notes or notices conveyed on social networks by anonymous individuals spreading rumors and insists that the law remains its only compass.
