Haiti - Economy : The City of Croix-des-Bouquets strengthens its tax service

On the initiative of the Municipal Council of Croix-des-Bouquets a training workshop on "tax mobilization" was held on 4 and 5 January for employees and executives of the tax department of the Town Hall.

This training aimed to reinforce the capacities of the Communal Administration for an efficiency in the field and a better service to the taxpayers. About 60 field agents (investigators, and supervisors) and clerical staff took part in this training conducted by a private specialization firm.

On the first day the specialists discussed the topics of general taxation related to the central state and the local taxation of communities.

The second day was about the general cartography, the cartography "censitaire" (of taxes payers), toponymy and techniques of investigation.

This training is a first step in the modernization policy of the different departments of the Communal Administration to better serve the crucienne population and in particular the taxpayers, underlined the Municipal Council, which informs among other things that the tax service will soon be fully computerized to better manage the data.
