Yesterday, Pierre Louis Opont, the Director General of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) said that his institution had requested $2MM to the international donors [United States, European Union, Canada and Brazil] that support the financing of the electoral process [29 million has already been spent].

He explained that these funds were justified by the need to implement the recommendations of the mission of the Organization of American States (OAS), both at the technical level, human resources than material. He said that he was confident of getting the money quickly and recalling that the remaining of the funds for the smooth running of the second round, which will be held on March 20, is already available.
