Haiti - France : 2nd Edition of the Assises of the Franco-Haitian Municipal Cooperation

Organized by the National Federation of Mayors of Haiti (FENAMH) and Cités Unies France, the Federation of French territorial authorities engaged in decentralized cooperation, with the support of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the French Embassy in Haiti, the 2nd Edition of the Assises of Decentralized Franco-Haitian Cooperation will be held on 5 and 6 December 2017 in Port-au-Prince.

These Assises will bring together the mayors of Haiti, representatives of the Government and its main national and international partners and over a hundred members of the French communities of Metropolitan France and the Americas.

Space for dialogue and exchange on the main themes of cooperation between Haitian and French communities, these Assises will offer conferences, round tables and workshops on key topics of territorial development such as: education, regional planning, the environment and rural development, water and waste management, intercommunality, local taxation, participatory democracy, tourism and heritage, and cooperation and regional integration.

These Assises will also give rise to several field visits by the delegations of French communities to the territories of the Haitian communes with which they cooperate.
