Limond Toussaint, the Minister of Culture learned with astonishment the news of the death of the famous Haitian musician, Henriot Valcourt aka "Boulo Valcourt", which occurred Friday, November 17, 2017, in New York where he had been hospitalized for three months.

"This news has touched me enormously and I remain shattered by the death of this illustrious singer-songwriter who has given so much and invested in the art and development of Haitian music.

Boulo Valcourt will remain alive in our hearts and on our lips through his songs and his musical humanism of which he alone had the secret.

The Ministry of Culture and Communication sends its sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Boulo Valcourt, to his great musical family, to the cultural sector and to all the music lovers pierced by his disappearance."
