Haiti - Canada : The Minister Fleurant wishes a reinforcement of the cooperation
Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE) received the visit of the new accredited Ambassador of Canada to Haiti, André Frenette. The two men exchanged on the bilateral relations of the two countries.
In his preliminary remarks, Minister Fleurant hailed Canada's support as a privileged partner of Haiti "The bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Canada has borne fruit, the country wishes a deepening in these relations, especially in the field of development."
He drew the attention of Ambassador Frenette to President Jovenel Moïse's determination to fight corruption in all its forms and lift the country out of poverty. In addition, he undertook to transmit to the Ambassador the document of the priority projects of the Haitian Government, in order to be able to align Canada's Country Program, around these projects while taking into account the priorities of Canada...
The Ambassador of Canada confirmed to the Minister that Haiti is a priority for his country and assured that Canada will continue to accompany Haiti in its development process. He took the opportunity to express to Minister Fleurant the concerns of Canada on the issue of health in Haiti and to reiterate his support for this area of cooperation. He also confirmed to Minister Fleurant the extension of the Canadian Support Program to the National Police of Haiti (PNH) for a period of 18 months.
