Haiti - Elections : A collective of candidates from the South East claims the cancellation of the elections

The collective of candidates from the South East, interprets the conclusion of the Report made by the experts of the Organization of American States (OAS), like a new proof that confirms that the November 28 elections were rigged. According Wilnet Content, the spokesman of this collective "the executive power and the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), sooner or later they will hear the voice of the reason, to allow other democratic and credible elections can be conducted in the country."

They are 11 candidates in the next legislative throughout the South-Eastern of the country, to be part of this collective which claims the cancellation of last election:

Members of the collective

  • Moril Jeudi : Parliamentary candidate (MAS) Constituency Cayes-Jacmel, Marigot.

  • Tranquille Fritzner : Deputy Jacmel (Solidarité)

  • Content Wilnet : Deputy Jacmel (Ansan Nou fò)

  • Saingladix Fleurinvil : Senator Commune Bainet (Solidarité)

  • Immacula Jeannnis Bazil : Senator (Lavni)

  • Marie Silvia Fabien Moise : Deputy, Bainet (Ansann nou fò)

  • Jean Joissaint Rodney : Deputy, Bainet (Repons peyizan)

  • Carlos Jean Bernard : Deputy Anse-à-pitre (Ansanm nou fò)

  • Marius Pascal : Deputy Belle-Anse (MAS)

  • Colin Francès : Deputy Lamontagne de Jacmel (Lavni)

  • Laurent Fequière Mathurin : former senator of lespwa (Ansanm Nou fò)

According to the spokesman of the collective, the methods used by the OAS experts to assess the results do not reflect the will of the Haitian people.Especially since this report has not considered, the problems of the vast majority of candidates to the legislative. He also stressed on the fact that President René Préval will have to leave power on February 7. Wilnet Content announces a wave of protests from February 2, 2011, in order to compel the Chief of the Executive to respect the constitutional deadline.

Nearly two months after the realization of the November 28 elections, candidates within the collective in the south-east, say that they are more confident than ever, in regard to an eventual satisfaction of their recommendations to the electoral process.
