Haiti - Politics : DR prepares a timetable of at least 43 projects with Haiti
Wednesday, Dominican Chancellor Miguel Vargas requested the officials of the Migration Policy Coordination Unit in the Border Zone (UCPMAF), to prepare a project implementation schedule, that the Dominican Republic will present in Haiti to help resolve the main problems affecting the bi-national border area.
Specifically, Vargas asked the UCPMAF members to submit their proposals by January 2018 via the Dominican-Haitian Mixed Bilateral Commission (CMB).
During a meeting at the Chancellery, it was agreed that these programs would be divided into five areas: institutional, protocols and agreements, development program, cooperation management and cross-cutting, under the responsibility of a small support committee that will identify "at least 43 short-term projects".
Chancellor Vargas insisted on the need to address these plans in an integrated perspective of relations with Haiti.
