Haiti - FLASH : 410 Haitians arrested in the Espaillat Province, 109 deported to Haiti

Following the migratory control operations carried out this week in the province of Santiago Rodrigez (North-West) where 510 Haitians were arrested and 182 deported to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21766-haiti-flash-vast-operation-against-haitians-in-dr-510-arrests.html , the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), following intelligence information on Wednesday, carried out a new and important operation including a staff of 104 men, including inspectors, DGM agents and support from the Dominican Army, in various localities of the 8 communes of the province of Espaillat (North) where 410 Haitians were arrested for control purposes.

After a process of identification and verification, 109 Haitian nationals (93 men and 16 women) who had no documents in good standing were deported to Haiti by the Dajabón border crossing.

In a statement, the DGM reiterated its appeal to citizens of different nationalities who are with an expired migratory status to regularize and those deprived of documentation to return to their country in order to avoid expulsion. The DMG recalls that control operations will continue in other provinces of the national territory to identify and deport all undocumented aliens without proper papers, who violate the provisions of the law.
