Haiti - FLASH : Dismantling in DR, of a mobile laboratory of false Haitian papers

The Dominican National Police and agents of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), dismantled during a joint operation, a mobile clandestine laboratory of false documents that worked near the Haitian Consulate in the university area in Santo Domingo.

This laboratory of counterfeiting of Haitian documents : passports, birth certificates, birth certificates and marriage certificates, among others, which operated in two vehicles (Nissan white, A578942 and Toyota green A182878) was led by Paul Romel, a Haitian national who was aArrested in one of the vehicles used to produce false documents. Two other accomplices Wilson Escaly and another known as "Chuchuta" are actively sought by the police.

False documents were used, among other things, to obtain visas and other documents in a fraudulent manner.

During the operation, the police in addition to the vehicles, seized in the car trunks a photo printer, 25 printing paper units, 119 passports, 196 birth certificates, 58 birth certificate extracts, 454 receipt of application for withdrawal of passports and a marriage certificate.

Paul Romel, the equipment and the seized documents and vehicles were immediately put at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor.
