In order to contribute to the revival of economic activities through the agricultural sector and to encourage the development of local initiatives generating income and creating jobs in rural areas in the southern peninsula of Haiti, the French Embassy in Haiti launches a Call for projects aimed at revitalizing the rural economy in the three major regions affected by Hurricane Matthew (South, Nippes and Grand'Anse).

This initiative is part more widely in the framework of the grant by France to Haiti of a budget of 1.5 million euros of food aid in 2017 for the continuation of the program of purchases of local agricultural productions led by the French Cooperation and in the concern to accompany the Haitian producers strongly decapitalized after the passage of Matthew.

This call for projects is aimed at local actors: producer associations, local NGOs and development partners (NGOs specialized in agricultural development) deployed in the southern peninsula of Haiti. Projects should address one of the following field :

- Plant production / development of arboriculture;

- Seed production;

- Breeding ;

- Processing of agricultural products;

- Fisheries and Aquaculture.
