Haiti - DR : The extreme right Dominican surfer on the Haitian migratory crisis

The former candidate defeated to the Dominican presidency Pelegrín Castillo of the Progressive National Force (FNP), rejects the statements of the Dominican military authorities who affirm to have control of the migration situation on the border with Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21499-haiti-flash-more-than-140-000-haitians-turned-back-at-the-dominican-border.html

He accuses the army of being corroded by corruption and allowing hundreds of illegal Haitians to cross the border. Moreover, although a minority right-wing minority party in the Dominican Republic has a capacity of nuisance. Returning to its recurring theme, the Party again evokes a peaceful invasion of Haitians, which would be part of a secret project of the Americans to merge the two countries of the island. He considers this to be a serious threat to territorial integrity and considers it a constitutional obligation of the Dominican Government to protect the border and control Haitian migration. Although unbelievable, these remarks unfortunately meet favorable echoes among Dominican ultra-nationalists, often responsible for tensions and violence on our compatriots.

Reacting to this unhealthy propaganda, Jean Tholbert Alexis, Minister Counselor in charge of the Consulate of Haiti in the province of Altagracia, strongly denied that his compatriots were invading the Dominican Republic peacefully and assured that there was no plan or intention, either current or future, aimed at any merger between the two nations, unlike the rumors circulated as part of a hate propaganda campaign on social networks. He recalled that there existed only a fraternal communion with the Dominican Republic, second economic partner of Haiti.
