Haiti - Economy : AfterCare Unit of CFI, serving the business sector

The AfterCare Unit of the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) and members of several Chambers of Commerce of the country had an important meeting on the theme "AfterCare, Partner of the Business Sector".

The purpose of this meeting was to raise awareness of the services of the AfterCare Unit of the CFI to the private business sector, a unit whose mission is to assist established entrepreneurs in the difficulties encountered during their operation and to accompany them in their development.

Tessa Jacques, General Director of the CFI, in her remarks of circumstance, emphasized "[...] the CFI is there to work with you Haitian entrepreneurs, who work in a difficult environment and on which rests the whole economy of the country. It is time to put ourselves together in an honest and fruitful dialogue in order to find the best formula to get the country out of this situation of misery and outrageous dependence. The CFI is your institution, ready to advise you, accompany you, within the limits of its mission and its vocation [...]"

Meanwhile, Me Bernard Gousse, guest speaker, discussed changes to the legal framework of business, particularly on the legislation under consideration in Parliament creating the Individual Enterprise Limited Liability (E.I.R.L) and Limited Liability Company (S.A.R.L).

Me Gousse concluded "With the reform of the legal framework that is largely underway and the normalization of political life, I think that we have moved from the age of pessimism and denunciation to the age of hope. But everyone has to get involved."

The Investment Facilitation Center, in accordance with its mission, is committed to providing the necessary support to potential investors and business leaders so that they can more easily set up and manage their business for the benefit of economic development of Haiti."
