Haiti - Environment : Neighborhood Cleanup Contest

The National Television of Haiti (TNH) and the Metropolitan Service for the Collection of Solid Waste (SMCRS) are launching this summer, a neighborhood cleanup contest "Katye pa-m pi pwòp", for the welfare of the community and country.

"Katye pa-m pi pwòp" will take place in three stages:

- July 3 to 28, 2017: Registration of neighborhood committees;

- From 8 to 31 August 2017: TV shootings in the short-listed neighborhoods;

- Beginning of September 2017: Diffusion of images

To register, the Neighborhood Committee must register first with the SMCRS, then complete its TNH participation form. After registration 10 neighborhoods will be short-listed. They will then be entitled to SMCRS cleaning materials and will be able to plan TV shooting in their respective neighborhood with TNH.

The braodcasting of images will allow the public to vote in favor of the neighborhoods. The neighborhood that receives the most votes for its cleaning and sanitation work will be crowned champion. The winning neighborhood will receive One million Gourdes, SMCRS cleaning supplies, paintings donated by "Peinture Caraïbes" and a Plaque of Honor.
