Haiti - FLASH : The country again threatened by the weather

Weather conditions in the Caribbean in their current evolution are under the influence of humid air, due to the approach of an altitude trough on the Greater Antilles. Consequently, locally stormy showers are forecast on Haiti on May 16, 17 and 18, 2017. These precipitations are likely to affect the entire country, particularly the departments of the South, South-East, Grand Anse, Artibonite, Central, Northwest and West regions.

The Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities is appealing to the population to be very careful about the risks of floods, landslides that could cause these rains.

Due to the accumulated rainfall already recorded, particularly in the southern regions of the country and the rain and thunderstorms planned for Tuesday 16 and Wednesday, the National Center of Meteorology (CNM), as well as the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) and the whole Permanent Risk Management Secretariat requires the population of the zone at risk in particular to take all the necessary precautions and to apply the safety instructions due to the moderate to heavy rains that could fall on the country.
