Haiti - Security : Workshop on the Protection and Management of Crime Scenes

The Ministry of Justice with the logistical and financial support of Minustah organized a workshop on the protection and management of crime scenes.

Jean Claudy Pierre, the Director General of the Ministry, who spoke in the presence of an audience composed mainly of senior executives of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), insisted on the importance of good management of crime scenes in the perspective of a healthy and impartial distribution of justice.

In his speech, Dr. Armel Démorcy, Director of the Medico-Legal Institute, stressed the importance of forensic medicine in cases of suspicious or violent death.

The Magistrate Kébreau Zamor, Director of Judicial Affairs of Ministry presented to the various participants, most of Departmental Directors of the police, the outline of the protocols to be followed in the matter.

This initiative, which should be extended to all actors in the criminal chain, was warmly applauded by the PNH, represented by its number 2, Chief Inspector General Ralph Stanley Jean Brice.
