Haiti - DR : Towards the restructuring of the Bilateral Joint Commission

Thursday at the Dominican Chancellery in Santo Domingo, at the first official meeting of Foreign Ministers Antonio Rodrigue (Haiti) and Miguel Vargas (Dominican Republic), the two Chancellors in a joint agreement document agreed to restructuring and revitalization of the Mixed Bilateral Commission (CMB), to enable the implementation of the agreements concluded between the two governments. They expressed the interest of continuing to work to increase cooperation agreements and the development of trade between the two nations of the island.

On another subject of this agreement, regarding the documentation of Haitian nationals residing in the Dominican Republic in an irregular migratory situation, the Haitian Chancellor Antonio Rodrigue confirmed that as of Friday, April 28, and to meet the commitments of the Haitian Government, will be delivered more than 10,000 pieces of ID produced by the Haitian government https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20752-haiti-flash-distribution-of-passports-and-other-documents-in-dr.html which will enable them to meet one of the mandatory requirements, registered in the National Regularization Program for Foreigners (PNRE), set up in June 2014 by the Dominican Republic.
