Thursday, as part of the commemoration of the National Diaspora Day (JND), during the Diaspora Forum, convened by Stéphanie Auguste, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), held at the Center Of the Convention of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), several subjects were debated.

Among other themes of discussion: Advocacy for the creation of a fund for investment and development of the diaspora, presented by Hervé Denis, Minister of Defense; Diaspora Investment Opportunities in Tourism in Haiti, presented by Ulrick Noël, Director of Investments, Ministry of Tourism; Guaranteeing the investments of the diaspora, presented by Claudy Pierre, Director General of the Ministry of Justice; Legislation in trade in Haiti, presented by Me Philippe Volmar, specialist on investment and business law matters; Project of return of compatriots from abroad entitled "Diaspora welcome back", presented Mrs. Aude Sicard.

Three workshops were organized:

The first, attempted to answer the question "How to involve the diaspora in the economic and social development of Haiti ?"

The second, dealt with "Diaspora, promotion and marketing of Haitian products abroad".

The third, examined the question "How can we use Haitian skills in the service of modernity ?"

Members of the various workshops submitted a number of proposals, including: the opening of MHAVE offices in all Consulates of Haiti abroad; Providing adequate training for young people; To realize a synergy between the Haitians abroad and those of the soil to determine the skills of the diaspora and better channel them to the country.
