Hugues Joseph, the Secretary General proceeded to the installation of Major Lener Renaud, General Coordinator of the National Commission for the Fight against Drugs (CONALD). He replaces Colonel Antoine Atouriste.

The Secretary General of the Primature reminded the new Coordinator that Haiti must strengthen its action on the fight against drugs "[...] a scourge against which we must fight with the utmost firmness and rigor", praising the qualities of Major Lener Renaud whose he underlined the seriousness, the dynamism and his loyalty to serve his country.

In his remarks of circumstances Major Lener Renaud is committed to the fight against drugs, money laundering and terrorist financing according to the wishes of President Jovenel Moïse. He expressed his determination to work to strengthen the CONALD, restore State authority and combat all narco-traffickers.

Antoine Atouriste, the Outgoing Coordinator, summarized his results at the head of CONALD, among others: the finalization of criminal procedures in the fight against drugs, money laundering and the financing of terrorism; Prevention and control of narco-traffickers; The synergy between CONALD and the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), the Central Financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF), the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), the Bureau for the Fight against Trafficking Narcotic drugs (BLTS); the strengthening of the task force and multilateral cooperation with the United States, France, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
