Haiti - Culture : Haitian Cultural Weeks in Europe (Program)

Within the framework of the European Program for Culture, the Haitian cultural weeks will take place in Milan, Stecca 3.0, 5-9 April, in France, Rennes 11-15 April and Belgium in Brussels in June to close the cycle of international activities of this program.

It should be noted that the European Program for Culture is being implemented by the Voluntary Service for the Development of Haiti (VDH) in partnership with the AfricAmericA Foundation and the Italian NGO COOPI. It is 90% financed by the European Union over 30 months from 2015 to 2017 and aims to contribute, through culture, to the economic and social development of Haiti by strengthening the operational capacities of cultural organizations and cultural professionals, through the creation of a support fund for creation-production-dissemination, training (academic and technical) and the development of international markets.

In each of the three selected European cities, an artisan exhibition, accompanied by a trilingual catalog, will be presented featuring traditional products as well as pieces created by Haitian artisans. Haitian artists and craftsmen will travel to meet the European public and professionals, such as the sculptor Eddy Jean Remy who will be present in Milan, accompanied by Guesly Michel, a certified student in management training for cultural organizations at the Henry Christophe Campus of the Haitian State University in Limonade. For his part, Jean Jean Roosevelt will join Dan Junior in Rennes.
