Minustah to leave in 6 months

On Thursday, Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant chaired an important working meeting with Sandra Honoré,civilian Head of MINUSTAH, Hervé Denis, the new Minister of Defense and Michel-Ange Gédéon,Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), around the mandate of Minustah. Sandra Honoré reiterated Minustah's support for strengthening the rule of law, republican institutions, support for the national police, governance and decentralization. Let us recall that Prime Minister Lafontant announced in a press note dated March 28 that the Minustah would leave Haiti in September 2017 (in 6 months).

On Thursday, Jean Claudy Pierre, Director General of the Ministry of Justice, installed Me Clamé Ocnam Daméus as the new Government Commissioner.
