Haiti - FLASH : The Senate launches a call for applications

The Senate, in accordance with its constitutional prerogative, is about to play its part in the appointment of members of certain institutions such as the Court of Cassation and the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC). To this end, in order to fill the gaps in these institutions, Youri Latortue, President of the Senate is calling for candidates to fill 6 vacancies to the Court of Cassation and 1 position to the OPC.

Court of Cassation :

Interested persons meeting the selection criteria must submit:

Extract of birth certificate, tax number, passport, CIN, certificate of baccalaureat 1 and 2, diploma of license in law, certificate of the bar, recent criminal record, certificate of discharge if the candidate has been accountable for the public funds, a certificate of declaration of taxes, a certificate attesting that the person concerned has completed at least seven years of experience as a judge officiating at the Court of Appeal, proof of payment of rental taxes, CV, photographs and cover letter.

Those interested in these positions must be under the age of 65, says Senator Latortue, who points out that the files will be analyzed by the Justice, Security and National Defense Commission of the Senate before being sent to the Senate for consideration.

Office of Citizen Protection :

The Senate is also looking for a Protector of the citizen, the required documents for this position are :

Certificate of nationality, certificate of notoriety, copy of birth certificate, criminal record, certificate of good life and morals, certificate of discharge if you have been accountable for public funds and any evidence of interest in human rights issues.

Candidates for these functions must submit their file to the General Secretariat of the Senate of the Republic, FROM THURSDAY 2 AND TO FRIDAY 10 MARCH 2017 (deadline).
