While the Haitian-Dominican border was heavily reinforced on the Dominican side, members of the specialized border security corps (CESFRONT) arrested two foreigners in Carrizal (Comendador - Elías Piña) : Vincent Randolph Canword a citizen of Aruba and Alberto Henao a Venezuelan, who tried to cross the border to Haiti illegally.

With these two arrests the number of foreigners seeking to enter illegally in Haiti amounts to 5 after the arrest last week of 3 Cubans : José Luis Zamboa Delgado, Miguel Gelabent Ordóñez and Cristian Stifano Zamboa Hernández.

These foreigners are currently being interrogated by the Dominican intelligence services who are trying to find out the purpose of these illegal trips to Haiti and to try to determine who is behind these attempts in order to clarify this curious phenomenon.

The competent Dominican authorities promised to provide a report on these cases as soon as possible.
