Friday, at the Sports Complex of Bois Boeuf, not far from the city of Jacmel, Abel Nazaire Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action in the presence of the Delegate of the Southeast, Alex Leroy, Deputy Kétel Jean Philippe, Mayor of Jacmel, Dr. Marky Kessa assisted by his assessors and former Senator Edo Zenny launched the 2017 Inter-School Championship in front of several hundred enthusiastic schoolchildren

The launch was marked by the parade of delegations from schools taking part in the competitions, the oath of athletes and officials and the match between the Collège Idéal Luperon and the École Chrétienne Évangélique.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Kétel Jean Philippe and Mayor Marky Kessa stressed the need to continue to support the practice of sport at all levels in the South-East Department and across the country.

The Minister Nazaire applauded the Jacmelians who mobilized to organize the launch of the 2017 inter-school championship with the supervision of the technicians of the Department of Physical and Sports Activities of the Ministry.

Organized for young boys and girls including on football, basketball and volleyball in the South East Department, the 2017 Inter-School Championship will be extanded to other disciplines and will take place in all regions of the country within the framework of global education for the mental and physical development of Haitian youth.
