Haiti - Tourism : Towards an International Jet Ski Competition in Haiti
Friday, at the Royal Decameron Beach Hotel (Montrouis), Abel Nazaire, Minister of Youth and Sports met with Guy Didier Hyppolite, Minister of Tourism and Eric Paulin promoter of the "KARUJET 2017", an international jet ski race (April 1 to April 9, 2017 on the beach of Viard, in Petit-Bourg, Guadeloupe), came specially from Guadeloupe with several of his colleagues to discuss with the two Ministers of the organization in Haiti of the 2018 edition of this spectacular and very popular sporting event.

Eric Paulin has found the site exceptional for the organization of this event of world renown, which will contribute to the development of tourism in Haiti. He announced that the conditions are met for holding next June of an experimental competition of KARUJET with an exceptional lineup of American, European and Guadeloupean racers before the regular edition in 2018.

Minister Hyppolite believes it is necessary to seize this opportunity that will encourage the practice of a new sports discipline in Haiti and encourage international visitors to discover the tourist destination.

For his part, Minister Abel Nazaire congratulated his colleague of tourism to associate tourism and sport through this event "It is an opportunity for the young people to put their talents at contribution and to realize performances in this new sports discipline," before highlighting the importance of sports tourism and the need to promote water sports in Haiti.

The various parties undertook to draw up a work plan with a view to raising awareness among the general public and young people in particular on the sports and tourist scope of the KARUJET and to exploit at the maximum for promotional purposes the organization of this event.
