Haiti - Elections : The Association of Haitian Media dismayed

The National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH) wants the proclamation by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of the preliminary results of the elections of November 20th, to be in conformity with the vote expressed by the electors and respects the promised date of Monday November 28, 2016 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19345-haiti-flash-already-more-than-1-700-minutes-in-quarantine-presidential.html .

The ANMH hopes that the losers will acknowledge their defeat and that the winners will understand that they have been given a mandate to transform the difficult realities of a people that has been waiting for change for too long.

Moreover, the Association says to be dismayed by "the gesticulations of a political group that awakens the old demons that Haitian society thought to have exorcised and that brandishes the same threats of yesteryear, repeats the same old discourse of destruction with the same claim of life and death on those they target as an obstacle to their political project and claim."

The ANMH invites the press and the media to continue to play their score with the same determination "in validly informing the population, by constituting as avant-garde in the denunciation of the drifts to isolate the violents and contribute to the emergence of a Rule of law [...] The press must not be the conscious vector of message of violence by suggesting the audience ready to makes assault to execute 'fatwas' against the 'infidels' [...] If the press were to lose the confidence of the citizens, the society would be destitute and deprived of recourse and exposed to all aberrations [...]"
