Haiti - FLASH : Weather situation as elections approach

Thursday at the National Palace, de facto President Jocelerme Privert, met with several entities of the National Risk Management System (SNGRD), François Anick Joseph, the Minister of the Interior and its Director General Jude Saint-Natus, the Director General of the National Center of Meteorology of Haiti Ronald Semelfort, the Director of Civil Protection, Mrs. Alta Jean-Baptiste and other executives, around the weather forecast on Haiti, during the election weekend three days before the elections, scheduled for next Sunday.

Privert asked the various entities of the SNGRD to regularly communicate to the population who must go to the polls this Sunday, all the necessary and up-to-date information concerning the predictions on Haiti in order to facilitate the electoral operations while continuing to ensure the safety of citizens.

Forecasts :

For Saturday, 80% probability of rain and of thunderstorms in Port-au-Prince is forecast, which rises to 100% for election day, Sunday 20 November, with a stronger trend in the afternoon.

Saturday, for Cap-Haïtien 70% probability of rains as well as Sunday also (probability of 80%) with a stronger trend in the morning.

Saturday at Les Cayes, scattered thunderstorms with a 60% chance of rain. Sunday mostly cloudy with 20% chance of rain.

Saturday in Jacmel, thunderstorms with a 90% of probability of rain from noon, Sunday always storms with 80% probability of rain.
