Lesly Condé, Consul General of Haiti in Chicago, reminds the entire Haitian community that Friday, November 18, 2016 brings back the 213th anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, which honored the entire black race.

Saturday, November 19, starting at 7:00 pm at the Kizin Creole premises located at 2311 W. Howard Street, Chicago, Illinois, the Consular Mission, will join the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti and other local organizations to commemorate this important date in the history of our country. On the program: several speakers, patriotic songs, poems, musical animation. A snack and refreshments will also be offered.

Moreover, Sunday, November 20, the faithful of all the religious denominations are invited to a mass which will be celebrated in the memory of our martyrs of Vertières. After the religious ceremony to be held at 5:30 am at the Church of Our Lady of Peace at 7801 South Jeffrey, Chicago, a reception will be held in the basement of the Church.
