Haiti - Humanitarian : Food For The Poor will build 1000 housing units in 100 Day

Food For The Poor one of the largest relief organizations and of international development, launching a campaign with the support of its generous donors to build 1,000 new housing units in 100 days so that Haiti recovers from Hurricane Matthew.

Added to these constructions Food For The Poor undertakes to repair 450 houses that suffered damage in the southern peninsula of Haiti. The campaign begins today "It is important that we act immediately, so that people can resume their lives quickly and start again. Thanks to our donors here, the people of Haiti will know it is not forgotten and that there is hope for the future," declared Robin Mahfood, President / CEO of Food For The Poor "It will be beautiful, trust me."

Recognizing that this is an ambitious goal, the leaders of Food For The Poor emphasize the need to give people hope and to move quickly into a solid and safe shelter. Note that many buildings still standing after Matthew, were houses and schools built by the charity.

According to the latest assessments of the teams on the ground 13 of the 29 Food For The Poor fishing villages were destroyed and must be rebuilt. The other 16 suffered major damage such as loss of roofs, freezers and equipment that need to be repaired or replaced. Financed and built through donations, these villages offer deep sea fishing opportunities for providing food and income needed to communities that have difficulty supporting themselves.

The goal is to achieve all construction of new housing units, repairs and fishing villages in 100 days.
