Thursday, Ling Jun, Permanent Representative of China People's Trade Office in Haiti presented a check of 100,000 US dollars to Dr. Claude Surena, Vice President of the National Society of the Haitian Red Cross (HRC) in order to strengthen the HRC response capacity after the passage of Hurricane Matthew which particularly devastated the South.

Speaking on behalf of the President of the Red Cross, Dr Guiteau Jean-Pierre, which is in the South to assess and harmonize the action of the actors of the HRC on the ground, Dr. Surena thanked the people and the Chinese authorities for this gesture of solidarity and promised to make good use of it in the greatest transparency.

Recall that the Haitian Red Cross, supported by the partners of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent, mobilized after the announcement of hurricane Matthew, played a key role in the response before, during and after Matthew passage and continues to support humanitarian actions.
