The presidential debate organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of West (CCIO) to be held on Thursday at the Karibe hotel between 4 candidates [in alphabetical order] : Jean-Henri Céant, Jovenel Moise, Jude Célestin et Moïse Jean-Charles and be retransmitted live, turned into a session of questions and answers between the public and Jovenel Moise, presidential candidate under the banner of PHTK, due to the absence of the 3 other candidates...

As explanation for the absence of Moïse Jean-Charles, the executive board of the party "Pitit Dessalin" explained "[...] given of an extremely busy campaign schedule in several departments of the country, Mr. Moïse Jean-Charles is obliged not to answer it [the debate] [...]"

For his part Gérald Germain, the Political Advisor of Jude C"lestin, candidate the presidency under the banner of the "Alternative League for Progress and the Haitian Emancipation" (LAPEH) simply indicated "Jude Célestin is campaigning in the Grand'Anse, he can not participate in the debate".

Jean Henry Céant presidential candidate under the banner of the Party "Renmen Ayiti" in a note "strongly protests against the belated cancellation note of the debate published by the CCIO, making believe in an alleged abandonment [...] This attitude of the organizers shows a lack of respect. Candidate Jean Henry Céant never did act of abandonment to participate in this debate [...] In the confusion created both by the silence of the Chamber of Commerce that the lack of elegance of other two participants, propriety and wisdom commanded that the debate was referred to time and reprogrammed at a later date."

Laurent Tesserot, treasurer of the CCIO, expressed regret that the debate could not take place due to the absence of 3 of 4 candidates.
