Haiti - Elections : After a metro, Lavalas promises cable cars

After having promised Monday, September 19 a metro line of more than 20 km between the south and north of the capital (Carrefour-Canaan) named "Projet Métro Prince" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18671-haiti-elections-lavalas-promises-a-metro-in-port-au-prince.html , Thursday at the Ritz Kinam hotel the party leaders of Famni Lavalas, in the presence of their candidate Maryse Narcisse, unveiled Phase II of introduction of Haiti to modernity. This new project consists of a set of cable cars lines in the metropolitan area and could cost around 400 million US dollars. "Two weeks ago I had presented the first phase of a mega project of metro in the metropolitan area [...] Today, it is about cable cars, this is the second phhase of our project for our five-year term [...]"

Konstantinos Panagiotou, the Representative of the Doppelmayr company specializing in cable car whose firm has already completed several projects of this type in Latin America, says that for the financing, his firm will take care of "it's us who will get the money for this project. With the help of the China Development Bank, Haiti will get a loan for 25 years and this money will allow it to realize its metro project and that of cable car and other project yet..."
