Haiti - FLASH Weather : Major damage in the commune of Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye
In the afternoon of Friday 23 September, a violent and localized meteorological episode struck the western part of Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye.
There are no reports of loss of life but the damage are very important "The strong winds, followed by torrential rains, made 4 slightly injured and winds ripped the roofs of 68 houses whose 3 were also flooded. Plantations have been ravaged and affected communities are : Nan Citron, Nan Calvaire, Nan Silo and below the cemetery of the commune.
The Ministry of the Interior carries out an assessment of the situation and Civil Protection has been mobilized to help the victims. Gueilllant Dorcinvil, the mayor of the commune and the local authorities are with the victims to respond quickly to their needs.
