Haiti - Tourism : Commemoration of the World Tourism Day

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries, will commemorate this year's World Tourism Day (WTD) in Jacmel on 25, 26 and 27 September on the theme chosen by the World Tourism Organization "Tourism for All - promoting universal accessibility".

Guy Didier Hyppolite, the Minister of Tourism, place all the three days of activities in a perspective of decentralization of the main tourist activities in the country, saying that "Despite the current context of transition, it is necessary to carry out activities to help ensure the maintenance of tourist revival of Haiti [...] Jacmel for its greater involvement in strengthening the attractiveness of Haiti, both through its socio-cultural events, its crafts and its importance in national history are key factors of designation as host city for the main celebrations of this commemorative day."

At the program :

Sunday afternoon: Inaugural Cocktail party at Jacmel Convention Center;

Monday: To the tourist port of the city, craft work exhibition from artisans of Jacmel and Eductour in the Southeast (Bassin Bleu, the beaches of Marigot and the park la Visite of Seguin etc...) for Press members of Port-au-Prince;

Tuesday: Debates with public and private stakeholders on the accessibility of tourism for all in the Haitian context to the Convention Center.
