Haiti - Elections : Fanmi Lavalas calls for sanctions ...

In reaction to the actions of activists, supporters and sympathizers of the party "Pitit Dessalin" in Cap Haitian designed to disrupt the launch of the electoral campaign of Maryse Narcisse, presidential candidate under the banner of the Party "Fanmi Lavalas" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18642-haiti-flash-former-president-aristide-suffered-a-discomfort-in-cap-haitien.html , the departmental coordination of the party of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, rejected the warning of Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) "against the disturbers https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18656-haiti-elections-cep-warns-the-disruptors.html and requires the application of sanctions as provided for in Article 119 of the Electoral Decree 2015.

"We demand the mere application of the law," declared Carly Eugêne, a Lavalas leader who claims to hold as evidence of videotapes of the incident.

However, beyond to present itself as a victim, Famni Lavalas has brought no complaint nor sent correspondence on this "incident" to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), confirmed on Tuesday 20 September, Richardson Dumesle, the Director of Communication the electoral institution.

The latter reiterates that the CEP is ready to punish any candidate who has violated the Electoral Decree, on receipt of a properly documented complaint.
