Haiti - Agriculture : Survey of Agricultural Production in the country
The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development performs from September to October 2016, a National Survey of Agricultural Production (ENPA) for the spring 2016 campaign on the whole national territory.
This survey will enable the Ministry to respond to one of its missions that is to generate and make available to the stakeholders of agriculture reliable and relevant information. The collected data will focus on the production of major crops, sown, planted seeds, livestock of main animal species and the production of eggs, milk and honey.
The results of this survey will be presented in December 2016 and will serve the State, NGOs, international organizations, the university, the associations, cooperatives, groupings, to growers for a better decision-making on policies, strategies and interventions in the development of the agricultural sector and the rural world.
The survey is performed by the Agricultural Statistics and Informatics Unit (USAI) [Sub-structure for Agricultural Statistics and Informatics (SSSAI)]. On the ground, the USAI is assisted by the Departmental statistics Cells put in place at the Agricultural Regional Directorates. In addition, the Ministry receives technical support from the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) of the Department of Agriculture of the United States of America (USDA) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture (FAO).
This survey is conducted with the financial support of the Food Security Thematic Programme (FSTP) of the European Union and the Program Participating Agency Service Agreement (PASA) of the International Development Agency of the United States of America (USAID) and the Government of Haiti.
