Haiti - Politic : Kely Bastien resigned from the Private Cabinet of Privert

Earlier this week, former Senator Kely Bastien, Health Adviser and responsible for relations with the Parliament of Private Cabinet of the President de facto Jocelerme Privert handed his resignation to the Head of State.

Resignation letter of Kely Bastien :

"Port au Prince, August 22, 2016,

[...] I have the regret to present you my resignation as Health Adviser and in relation with the parliament of your Private Office. This decision is effective upon receipt of this. It is explained by your laudable concern to ensure the neutrality of the Presidency of the Republic on the organization of the forthcoming elections.

I want to thank you very much for the trust you have placed in me to help you fully assume your mission [...]

I please ask you to convey my gratitude to the Chief of Staff and other members of the Cabinet who have allowed me to live this experience so rewarding of teamwork. This is a clear and living testimony, which further strengthens my conviction that together our country can reborn.

Duty calls me elsewhere to continue to serve my country and help address the many challenges it faces.

While wishing you success in this task to assume responsibility to work resolutely to the holding of upcoming elections in a context economic and socio-political complex, I ask you to receive the expression all my respect and my best regards [...]

Kely BASTIEN, MD, MSc."
