Haiti - Education : The Government is mobilizing for back to school

Wednesday, the de facto President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert, held on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers, a meeting with State officials involved in the back to school 2016-2017 scheduled for this September 5 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18138-haiti-education-back-to-school-on-september-5.html in order to inquire about the devices already taken or underway for the full success of the school year.

With the Ministers Jean Beauvois Dorsonne, National Education and Vocational Training, Camille Edouard Jr, Justice and Public Safety, Romain Yves Bastien, Economy and Finance; Michel-Ange Gédéon, Director-General a.i. of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), and representatives of Mopad and the National School Feeding Programme (PNCS), Jocelerme Privert held talks on the projections of these respective entities of the State for the return to school.

It raised questions concerning the school grant (uniforms, textbooks, scholarships, internships, etc...), the arrears of Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO), training of teachers, new appointments for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, institutional support, the offer of school meals. The President also emphasized strategies in terms of transport and adequate road infrastructure, of significantly remediation policy across the country or security.

Also the representatives of each of the institutions have promised to make every effort for the success of Back to School activities, and the continuation of their action plans for a successful school year throughout the territory.
