Let's recall that since March 28, 2016 (3 months), a strike movement of medical residents started at the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH), which was gradually extended to almost all public health institutions in the country, hosting residents, in specialization and social service. It was followed by an almost complete paralysis of the functioning of these institutions, because the other staff categories have joined the protest movement.

This situation that has already caused several victims, because lack of care https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17531-haiti-flash-strike-a-3-year-old-girl-died-for-lack-of-care.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17361-haiti-health-irresponsible-strike-in-hospitals.html should challenge the highest national health authorities up to support staff, passing obviously by residents, the other categories of health staff and even the Haitian Parliament, which at a certain moment has shown the inclination to help find a solution to this crisis, but nothing seems to move in this crisis....

In his 3rd note, the Haitian Medical Association (AMH) says to be "[...] very concerned about the deterioration in which is sinking the crisis in the healthcare system. It deeply regrets that in recent weeks, all the bridges seem to have been cut between the main protagonists.

AMH implore all parties to resume dialogue and to continue their efforts for a quick resolution of the crisis to the benefit of the general population. It invites already all stakeholders in the health sector in a greater consultation for a thorough analysis of the situation and especially the establishment of monitoring mechanisms to prevent recurrence.

In accordance with its mission and its Statutes, AMH will continue to engage actively in search of efficient and sustainable solutions in consultation with all concerned parties."
