Monday, in the framework of cooperation in the health sector between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Haiti, Tsai-Chiu Hwang, Ambassador of Taiwan in Haiti presented a donation of 100,000 US dollars to Daphnée Benoit Delsoin, the Minister of Health, for the purchase of 4 dialyzers (artificial kidney) for the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH).

This donation will enable Taiwan to expand access to care for patients, while 6 of 8 dialyzers of the HUEH are dysfunctional for many months...

The Minister Daphnée Benoit Delsoin, thanked Taiwan for this donation which will help strengthen the dialysis unit at HUEH and that after the purchase of four new dialysis machines, steps will be taken to repair the faulty devices.

Tsai-Chiu Hwang reiterated the determination of Taiwan to help Haiti in the field of health.
