Haiti - Politic : «Further efforts must be made by the authorities»

In a note dated Monday, May 9, of religious institutions, civil society organizations, human rights defense organizations and personalities of the Haitian Society, welcomed the establishment of the evaluation Commission and of verification and hopes that the conclusions of the work of this Commission will help to restore confidence to the Haitian people in the relaunching of the electoral process, that should lead to the restoration of democratic and constitutional order.

However, far to clear the Executive, the signatories of this note are convinced that "further efforts should be made by the Haitian authorities, actors and political competitors to prevent the country a succession of ephemeral powers and an endless political crisis." Given the deadlines of the Agreement of 6 February 2016, they want to believe that "all State actors are aware of the need for an update of this Agreement; this, after negotiations in good faith and in the resolute spirit to restore without precipitation a lasting constitutional governance."
