Haiti - Politic : The MJSAC wants to train 10,000 young people in first aid and volunteering

Abel Nazaire, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) received last week, at Polyvalent Training Centre (Ranch of the Croix-des-Bouquets), a delegation from the Haitian Red Cross (CRH), around a partnership between the two institutions to develop the sense of volunteerism among youth and strengthen the networks of the Red Cross in different parts of the country.

Aware of the importance of young people in the humanitarian volunteering, the Minister Nazaire declared "It is important to train young people in first aid as volunteers... it is necessary to have a better use of this important resource that represent young people," announcing that he wished train 1,000 young people by department in first aid and voluntary explaining "If we can train of young people who have a knowledge in lifesaving, in emergency aid, it could help a lot the country."

Emphasizing the important number of organizations and youth associations, partners of the Ministry Guiteau Jean-Pierre, President of the Haitian Red Cross indicated "This is an extraordinary opportunity to be exploited by members of the Red Cross to expand its network of young volunteers and donors for their blood bank," inviting the Minister Nazaire to launch this cooperation during the celebration of the International Day of the Red Cross May 8, 2016 under the slogan "Everywhere and for all".

It was agreed between the Ministry and CRH that technical meetings will be conducted to define the framework of interventions, design and develop all projects to be implemented for the benefit of Haitian youth.
